Douh!

A single shouted “Douh!” can communicate an entire scene: the plan failed, the answer was right in front of you, or somebody has just discovered the consequences of their own decision. The clipped exclamation gives it a comic, mildly exasperated energy, making it easy to understand even without visual context. It works as a reaction because the emotion arrives immediately rather than building slowly.

On a soundboard, “Douh!” fits naturally after a missed jump, an accidental click, a mistimed punchline, or an especially questionable choice. It can punctuate gameplay highlights, reaction videos, livestream moments, voice chats, and meme edits without overwhelming the surrounding audio. The spelling also gives the clip a playful, informal character; it reads like a deliberately exaggerated groan rather than a serious outburst.

Its strongest quality is timing. Played right after a mistake, “Douh!” turns a routine failure into a recognizable comedic beat. It can also be used ironically when something goes exactly as expected, adding a layer of mock disbelief. Keep it short and sudden, and the effect becomes a neat audio equivalent of a facepalm: clear, expressive, and ready for almost any beautifully avoidable disaster.
