Ronflement

A rough, rhythmic snore turns silence into a tiny comedy scene. “Ronflement” evokes someone sleeping deeply, breathing noisily, and remaining entirely unaware of the disruption happening around them. The sound can land as gentle background texture or as an exaggerated punchline, depending on how it is timed and what surrounds it. Its low, rumbling quality makes the joke immediately readable even without dialogue.

In a video edit, it can follow a long explanation, an awkward pause, or a deliberately boring moment to suggest that an audience member has mentally checked out. In a group call, it offers a playful way to pretend that a conversation has put you to sleep. It also works naturally in comedy sketches involving roommates, late-night scenes, tired characters, fake sleeping, or someone refusing to pay attention. The French title gives the clip a compact, distinctive identity while the sound itself remains universally recognizable.

Timing is the main source of its impact. A sudden snore after complete silence creates a clean surprise, while repeated playback can build a deliberately cartoonish rhythm. Keep the volume balanced against speech so the texture reads clearly without overwhelming the scene. “Ronflement” is a simple but expressive effect: a few seconds of sleepy rumbling can communicate exhaustion, boredom, mockery, or absurd domestic chaos without needing an extra line of dialogue.
