Ngorok

“Ngorok” is a snoring sound with a low, raspy, repetitive quality that immediately suggests deep sleep, exhaustion, or someone completely unaware of the noise they are making. The Indonesian title gives it a locally familiar identity, while the sound itself is easy to understand in any language. Its steady rumble can feel mild and realistic, or become hilariously dramatic depending on the surrounding clip.

In a video edit, it can punctuate a joke about falling asleep during a conversation, ignoring responsibilities, or taking an aggressively comfortable nap. It also fits reaction content where somebody appears disengaged, a character has been “knocked out” by boredom, or a long pause needs an unexpected audio punchline. Dropped into a voice chat, “Ngorok” can jokingly suggest that someone has gone silent, is pretending not to listen, or has surrendered to sleep.

The sound’s simplicity is its strength: there is no dialogue to compete with captions, music, or spoken reactions. A single burst can sell the gag, while a longer repeat creates the impression of an unstoppable sleeper. It is especially useful for meme timing, comedic transitions, and scenes that need a recognizable sign of sleep without showing it visually.
