Finish Him!

Few fighting-game phrases carry as much theatrical pressure as “Finish Him!” In Mortal Kombat, the announcer delivers it after a decisive victory, signaling that the defeated opponent is vulnerable and the winner can perform a finishing move. The wording is brief, forceful, and instantly recognizable, with a stern vocal attack that makes even a playful moment feel like a championship bout reaching its final seconds.

Its impact comes from the pause it creates. The battle appears to be over, yet the sound announces that the real spectacle has not quite ended. That contrast makes the clip especially effective in gaming montages, versus-match commentary, livestream reactions, and edits built around a dramatic turning point. It can also punctuate humorous situations: a friend loses an argument, a rival makes one last mistake, or an exaggerated “final boss” moment suddenly demands a decisive response.

The phrase is closely associated with Mortal Kombat’s stylized arcade presentation and its famously over-the-top finishing sequences. Even listeners who do not play the series often recognize the command from its distinctive delivery and pop-culture presence. On a soundboard, it works best as a sharp cue rather than background audio—drop it immediately after a win, a devastating comeback, or any moment that calls for mock-serious finality. The included MP3 makes the clip easy to trigger whenever the atmosphere needs an extra dose of fighting-game drama.
