Escanor, Who Decided That

Few reaction lines turn a simple challenge into a declaration of authority quite like “Escanor, Who Decided That.” Associated with Escanor from The Seven Deadly Sins, the quote reflects his larger-than-life presence: composed on the surface, intensely self-assured underneath, and completely unwilling to accept an unsupported claim. The wording is short, but its attitude does all the heavy lifting. It sounds less like a question and more like a formal demand for an explanation from whoever presumed to make the decision.

That contrast makes the clip especially entertaining outside its original anime context. A friend announces an arbitrary rule, someone confidently states a questionable opinion, or a group chat reaches a ridiculous conclusion, and this response instantly reframes the moment as a grand confrontation. The humor comes from applying Escanor’s overwhelming confidence to situations that absolutely do not deserve such theatrical intensity. It can land as mock arrogance, exaggerated disbelief, or a deliberately dramatic way to push back without launching into a long argument.

As a soundboard entry, it fits anime reaction edits, gaming commentary, memes, livestream banter, and voice-chat interruptions. The line is recognizable to fans while remaining clear enough for anyone to understand its purpose: someone has made a decision, and Escanor—or at least the person playing the clip—has arrived to question their authority.
