Lights Flickering

There is something immediately uncomfortable about a light that cannot decide whether to stay on. “Lights Flickering” evokes that familiar sequence of brief electrical clicks, faint buzzing, and uneven pauses as illumination cuts in and out. The sound does not need a dramatic melody to create tension; its irregular rhythm supplies the unease on its own, making a quiet room feel watchful and unpredictable.

In a soundboard, the clip can punctuate a suspicious pause, a failed reveal, or an entrance that deserves a little supernatural atmosphere. It pairs naturally with dark-room visuals, horror-game moments, eerie storytelling, haunted-house skits, and comedic scenes where the environment seems to react before anyone else does. Because flickering lights are an everyday experience, the effect remains recognizable even when used in an exaggerated or theatrical context.

The texture also works as transitional audio. Place it beneath a scene change to signal instability, layer it behind a whispered line for added pressure, or trigger it after an unexpected message to make a mundane moment feel ominous. Its strongest quality is restraint: rather than announcing a scare outright, “Lights Flickering” builds anticipation through repetition, interruption, and the suggestion that something electrical—or perhaps something less explainable—is just out of sight.
